FISHERS, Ind. — The Indy Fuel have re-signed defenseman Will Ennis for the 2026-27 ECHL season, bringing back the 26-year-old following his first year with the organization.
Ennis appeared in 63 games for Indy last season, recording four points and 22 penalty minutes.
His return gives new head coach Jesse Messier another familiar option on defense as the Fuel continue assembling their roster ahead of the start of the season.
Ennis Returns for Another Season in Fishers
Before joining the Fuel, Ennis spent four seasons playing college hockey at the University of Windsor, finishing his collegiate career with eight goals and 34 assists across 97 games.
The Russell, Ontario native previously played four seasons with the Oshawa Generals of the Ontario Hockey League.
Ennis appeared in 239 games for Oshawa and served as an alternate captain during his final season. He was also named the Generals’ top defenseman following the 2018-19 campaign.
His re-signing becomes another offseason move for a Fuel organization undergoing changes behind the bench while retaining several players from last season’s roster.
Ennis and the Fuel are scheduled to begin the regular season October 16 against the Wheeling Nailers at Fishers Event Center.
