INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — The Indianapolis Colts are adding a bold new look to their uniform lineup.
The team unveiled its new “Anvil Strike” Rivalries uniform on Tuesday as part of the NFL and Nike’s Rivalries program, which this year features all eight teams from the AFC South and NFC North.
The new design represents a departure from the Colts’ traditionally conservative look while still maintaining important elements of the franchise’s identity.
One of the biggest additions is the iconic horseshoe logo on the sleeves, something the Colts have never previously featured on one of their jerseys. The horseshoes were designed with a metallic finish intended to resemble a real horseshoe, while the uniform also incorporates steel-inspired details and a more aggressive visual identity.
The project was the result of a collaboration between the Colts, Nike and the NFL that began in 2024. According to Colts Owner and Chief Brand Officer Kalen Jackson, the goal was to honor the organization’s history while also pushing the design in a new direction.
The Colts have largely maintained one of the NFL’s most recognizable and consistent uniform identities since the franchise entered the league in 1953. But with the new Rivalries design, the organization saw an opportunity to expand that identity.
“We really are a traditional team and we have a traditional look,” Jackson said. “We like to honor that tradition, and I think maybe we stayed a little bit too safe sometimes.”
The “Anvil Strike” uniform will make its on-field debut on September 27, when the Colts host AFC South rival Houston Texans at Lucas Oil Stadium.
Under the NFL x Nike Rivalries program, the new uniform will remain part of the Colts’ rotation through the 2028 season.
