WESTFIELD, Ind. — The leaderboard changed after Round 2 of LIV Golf Indianapolis, with Wild Card Richard T. Lee taking the solo lead and 4Aces GC moving to the top of the team standings heading into the weekend at The Club at Chatham Hills.
Lee followed his opening-round 63 with a 4-under 66 on Friday, reaching 11 under for the tournament and taking a one-shot lead at the halfway point.
Thomas Detry, Dustin Johnson and Round 1 leader Laurie Canter are tied for second at 10 under.
The battle remains tight behind them, with a large group sitting just two shots off the lead at 9 under. That group includes Thomas Pieters, Abraham Ancer, Michael La Sasso, Joaquin Niemann, Lee Westwood and Cameron Smith.
4Aces takes control
While the individual race remains close, 4Aces GC created some separation in the team competition.
The team reached 31 under through two rounds to take a five-shot lead over Torque GC at 26 under.
Detry and Johnson led the way for 4Aces, both reaching 10 under overall, while Pieters moved to 9 under after a 5-under 65. The three players are all inside the top five heading into Saturday.
HyFlyers GC, Ripper GC and Majesticks Golf Club are tied for third at 25 under.
One of Friday’s biggest performances came from Michael La Sasso, who fired a 10-under 60 — the best round of his LIV Golf career — to jump into a tie for fifth individually.
The weekend ahead
With two rounds remaining, the Indianapolis title is still wide open.
Bryson DeChambeau sits tied for 15th at 7 under, while the season-long Individual Championship race also remains in play behind already-crowned champion Jon Rahm.
Round 3 begins Saturday at 11:15 a.m. ET at The Club at Chatham Hills.
The final group will feature the top three players on the leaderboard: Richard T. Lee, Thomas Detry and Dustin Johnson.
