WESTFIELD, Ind. — LIV Golf Indianapolis officially got underway Thursday as fans gathered at The Club at Chatham Hills for the opening day of the league’s 2026 season finale.
The first day brought some of golf’s biggest names to Westfield, with spectators following players throughout the course as the championship weekend began. From the opening groups to the action around Chatham Hills, the event delivered a different atmosphere from a traditional golf tournament.
LIV Golf’s format keeps the action moving across the course from the start, allowing fans to follow multiple groups and experience the tournament from different areas throughout the venue. This year’s event runs from August 20–23 and serves as the final stop of the 2026 LIV Golf season.
Thursday’s competition also produced plenty of action on the course. Laurie Canter opened the tournament with an 8-under 62 to take the individual lead after Round 1, while Majesticks Golf Club moved to the top of the team leaderboard.
But beyond the scores, opening day was also about the experience surrounding one of Indiana’s biggest sporting events of the week.
Chatham Hills provided the backdrop as fans watched players including Jon Rahm, Bryson DeChambeau and other stars take on the Pete Dye-designed course in Westfield.
With three rounds still to play, LIV Golf Indianapolis is just getting started.
