FISHERS, Ind. — The Indy Fuel are bringing back size and physicality to their forward group for another season.
Forward Michael Marchesan has re-signed with Indy on a standard player contract for the 2026-27 ECHL season.
The 25-year-old joined the Fuel in April 2024 after being claimed off waivers from the Atlanta Gladiators. He had previously spent two seasons in Atlanta, appearing in 111 games and recording 34 points and 114 penalty minutes.
Last season in Indy, the 6-foot-5 forward finished with seven goals and six assists while collecting 88 penalty minutes, leading the Fuel in that category for much of the season.
A Proven Scorer Before Reaching the ECHL
Marchesan’s numbers before reaching the ECHL also show another side of his game.
During the 2022-23 season, the Burlington, Ontario native recorded 58 points in 46 games with the Danbury Hat Tricks of the Federal Prospects Hockey League.
His production continued in the postseason, where he led Danbury with 13 points in 10 playoff games. The Hat Tricks went on to win the FPHL Commissioner’s Cup, with Marchesan earning playoff MVP honors.
One season earlier, Marchesan produced 101 points — 54 goals and 47 assists — in just 32 games for the St. George Ravens. He added another 18 points in seven postseason games.
With Marchesan returning, the Fuel retain a forward who can bring both size and a physical presence while providing offensive potential.
He’ll be part of a roster now being shaped under new head coach Jesse Messier ahead of Indy’s October 16 season opener at Fishers Event Center.
