WESTFIELD, Ind. — A new name made history in Indiana.
Michael La Sasso captured his first professional victory Sunday at LIV Golf Indianapolis, becoming the youngest winner in league history after a dramatic final round at The Club at Chatham Hills.
The 22-year-old HyFlyers GC player closed with a 5-under 65 to finish the tournament at 18 under, holding off a late charge from 2026 Individual Champion Jon Rahm to win by one shot.
It was a remarkable turnaround for La Sasso, who opened the tournament with a 1-over 71 before catching fire with a 10-under 60 in Round 2. He followed with rounds of 66 and 65 to complete one of the biggest breakthrough performances of the LIV Golf season.
La Sasso holds off Rahm
La Sasso entered Sunday’s final round with a one-shot advantage, but Rahm made sure the final day of the season would not be a quiet one.
The Legion XIII captain produced a 7-under 63, the lowest score of the final round, climbing from 10 under at the start of the day to finish at 17 under.
Rahm had already secured his third consecutive LIV Golf Individual Championship before arriving in Indianapolis, but nearly added the tournament title to his season-long crown.
Instead, La Sasso delivered when it mattered most. His birdie on the par-5 18th helped secure the victory and complete a memorable week in Westfield.
“I don’t even know what to say. I’m shaking, if I’m being honest,” La Sasso said after the win.
For a player who entered the week with just one top-30 finish in LIV Golf competition, the victory represented a massive breakthrough.
Stars fill the leaderboard
Rahm finished alone in second place at 17 under, while Sergio Garcia and Bryson DeChambeau shared third at 16 under.
Richard T. Lee, Scott Vincent and Laurie Canter finished tied for fifth at 15 under.
Canter had opened the tournament with a career-best 62, while Lee matched Rahm’s final-round 63 to make one of the biggest moves on Sunday.

Legion XIII finishes on top
While La Sasso celebrated his first professional victory, Legion XIII completed its own successful championship run.
Led by Rahm’s final-round 63, Legion XIII finished at 44 under for the tournament to win the LIV Golf Team Championship by six shots.
HyFlyers GC finished second at 38 under, with La Sasso’s individual victory providing the highlight of the team’s week. Ripper GC placed third at 36 under, followed by 4Aces GC at 32 under.
The victory gave Legion XIII its second consecutive Team Championship and capped another dominant season for Rahm and his team.
Rahm had already secured the 2026 Individual Championship, and Legion XIII left Indiana with the team trophy as well.

The 22-year-old arrived at The Club at Chatham Hills looking for a breakthrough and left Indiana with his first professional trophy — and a place in LIV Golf history.
For Legion XIII, meanwhile, Indianapolis marked another championship celebration and the perfect ending to a season that saw Rahm secure his third consecutive individual title before the team added another trophy to its collection.
