USA Archery Nationals and LA28 Olympic Trials Coming to Grand Park in 2027

Share

WESTFIELD, Ind. — Grand Park Sports Campus is set to welcome elite archery back to Westfield in a major way in 2027.

The 143rd USA Archery Target Nationals and 2027 U.S. Open are scheduled for August 11–15, 2027, with the event also set to feature the opening stages of qualification for the U.S. Olympic Team Trials ahead of the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games.

The event will bring some of the nation’s top archers to Hamilton County as athletes compete for national titles and begin the long road toward representing Team USA at LA28.

The timing is particularly significant for compound archery. Los Angeles 2028 will mark the Olympic debut of compound archery, with a mixed team competition joining the five existing Olympic recurve events. It will be the first new bowstyle added to the Olympic archery program since the sport returned to the Games in 1972.

USA Archery Returns to Westfield

Grand Park is no stranger to championship-level archery.

The Westfield sports campus hosted the 133rd U.S. National Target Championships, U.S. Open and JOAD National Target Championships in August 2017. More than 1,100 archers competed during that event, which USA Archery described at the time as the largest Outdoor Nationals in the event’s 133-year history.

A decade later, national-level archery is set to return to the same venue.

Grand Park’s expansive outdoor footprint makes it well suited for an event of this scale. The Westfield campus spans more than 400 acres and features dozens of multipurpose fields along with extensive spectator and event infrastructure.

USA Archery’s bidding requirements for the 2027 and 2028 Target Nationals anticipated more than 500 athletes plus hundreds of family members and support personnel.

With national championships and the beginning of the LA28 Olympic selection journey coming together in Westfield, August 2027 is shaping up to be an important stop on the U.S. archery calendar.

Additional details regarding competition schedules, athlete registration and spectator information are expected closer to the event.

We Like Indy Sports will continue to follow updates ahead of the 2027 USA Archery Target Nationals at Grand Park.
