Carson Kvapil Earns First Career Victory in Pennzoil 250 at Indianapolis

Carson Kvapil delivered the biggest victory of his young career Saturday, winning the Pennzoil 250 presented by Take 5 Oil Change at Indianapolis Motor Speedway and leading an unprecedented top-four sweep by JR Motorsports.

The victory was the first of Kvapil’s NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series career, coming in his 64th series start behind the wheel of the No. 1 Wilde Protein Crackers Chevrolet. The emotional triumph unfolded at one of motorsports’ most iconic venues, where the 23-year-old celebrated with tears, relief and an unforgettable leap from his car into the arms of his crew at the Yard of Bricks.

“It means the world to me,” Kvapil said after the race. “It’s very emotional. I thought about all the hard work my dad and I put in to get to this point and the opportunity Dale Jr., L.W. Miller and Kelley Miller gave me to come back this season.”

Kvapil started from the outside of the front row and took the lead for good on Lap 79, powering past teammate Ross Chastain on the backstretch. While he built a comfortable advantage late in the race, teammate Justin Allgaier mounted a charge over the closing laps, cutting the gap to just 0.283 seconds entering the final lap.

Kvapil remained composed under pressure, hitting his marks through the final corners before crossing the finish line 0.643 seconds ahead of Allgaier to secure his breakthrough victory.

The race also became a historic day for JR Motorsports. Allgaier finished second, Ross Chastain came home third and Chase Elliott, who started last in the 38-car field, climbed all the way to fourth, giving JR Motorsports the first 1-2-3-4 finish in NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series history.

William Sawalich rounded out the top five for Joe Gibbs Racing.

The victory was JR Motorsports’ third Pennzoil 250 triumph at Indianapolis, joining victories by Justin Allgaier (2018) and Connor Zilisch (2025). The organization has now won 14 of the first 22 races this season, continuing one of the most dominant campaigns in recent series history.
