The California driver opens Indiana Sprint Week with a milestone win at The Dirt Track at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
Justin Grant added another unforgettable chapter to his racing career Thursday night by capturing his 100th career United States Auto Club (USAC) National Feature victory during the opening race of the 39th USAC NOS Energy Drink Indiana Sprint Week Presented by K&N Filters at The Dirt Track at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
With the victory, Grant became just the fifth driver in USAC history to reach the 100-win milestone, joining legendary names such as A.J. Foyt, Rich Vogler, Mel Kenyon, and Dave Darland.
A Historic Night at Indianapolis Motor Speedway
Driving the No. 4 TOPP Motorsports Sprint Car, Grant led 29 of the 35 laps to secure the $10,000 winner’s prize and continue his incredible success at IMS.
The win marked his second consecutive victory in this USAC AMSOIL Sprint Car National Championship event and his fourth straight year winning at The Dirt Track inside Turn 3 of Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Overall, it was Grant’s fifth career victory on the 1/5-mile dirt oval, adding to previous triumphs during the BC39 USAC Midget National Championship events.
“It’s been an incredible career for me to live through and experience,” Grant said after the race. “To win at IMS with this TOPP Motorsports team, I’m speechless. I couldn’t think of a better place to win No. 100.”
A Battle with Jake Swanson
Grant started from the pole position while Jake Swanson lined up third, and the pair quickly separated themselves from the rest of the field.
The two drivers took very different approaches around the dirt oval. Grant relied on the high cushion around the outside while Swanson searched for speed on the bottom groove.
Swanson briefly grabbed the lead on Lap 4, but Grant regained control on Lap 10 after building momentum around the outside exiting Turn 2. From there, he never looked back.
Despite three caution periods, Grant dominated every restart, consistently pulling away thanks to his speed around the high side of the racetrack.
“You’ve got to be really focused,” Grant explained. “Once I got the lead, I felt really good.”
Final Results
Jake Swanson finished second after remaining Grant’s closest challenger throughout the race.
The remainder of the top five included:
- Logan Seavey – 3rd
- Briggs Danner – 4th
- Shane Cottle – 5th
Swanson admitted that while the low groove worked early, he knew Grant’s pace around the top would eventually become difficult to match during the closing laps.

The opening night of Indiana Sprint Week delivered one of the biggest moments of the 2026 USAC season as Justin Grant officially entered one of the sport’s most exclusive clubs.
Reaching 100 career USAC National Feature victories places Grant among the greatest drivers in series history, and accomplishing the feat at Indianapolis Motor Speedway only adds to the significance of an already remarkable career.
